Do I need a subscription to use Dictāta?+
Not necessarily, you can test the free version. We give you 30 free minutes (around 1500 words), which is more than other providers offer. If you decide to go with us, you can upgrade your plan. Optionally, you can also use your own OpenAI API key.
What's the difference between the native app and browser tools?+
The desktop app types directly into any application across your system, so you never have to switch tabs or copy and paste text again.
Can I use the same account across Windows and macOS?+
Yes, you can download your data and upload it seamlessly to another device. This is designed to ensure that your data is not stored in our cloud.
Does Dictāta work offline?+
We are working on bringing the local version of Dictāta, which will keep all the information on your device. The local version will be enabled within the same application. Simply download the app, test the cloud solution, and we will inform you when the local version is released.
How do I customize hotkeys?+
Open Settings → Shortcuts to assign your preferred key combos. Dictāta supports Ctrl, Cmd, and modifier stacks.

Use the Share Feedback button at the top of the home page within the app. You can report a bug, request a feature, or ask for support there.
